About Alpha Lipid™ Lifeline™
What is Alpha Lipid™ Lifeline™?
It's a powdered drink made in New Zealand by New Image™. Each 16g serving combines bovine colostrum with probiotic cultures (Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium) and calcium. Calcium is needed for the maintenance of normal bones and teeth.
What is the Alpha Lipid™ coating?
Alpha Lipid™ is New Image™'s patented milk phospholipid technology, blended with the colostrum in every tin. It is both water and fat soluble. It's what makes Lifeline™ different from plain colostrum powder, and New Image™ holds the patent.
Is it the genuine product?
Yes. We are an independent New Image™ distributor and every tin we send is official New Image™ stock. New Image™ products are sold through distributors rather than supermarkets, so be wary of heavily discounted listings on marketplaces.
About colostrum
What is colostrum?
Colostrum is the first milk a mother produces immediately after giving birth, before ordinary milk comes through. All mammals produce it. It is naturally rich in proteins, including immunoglobulins and growth factors, along with vitamins and minerals.
Where does the colostrum in New Image™ products come from?
From pasture-fed dairy cows in New Zealand. New Image™ produces Lifeline™ in Auckland under New Zealand's food safety regulations.
When is it collected?
The first colostrum after calving is left for the calf. New Image™ collects theirs within the first 36 to 48 hours.
Why cow's colostrum?
Bovine colostrum is not species-specific, which is why it has long been used as a food ingredient for people. Cows also produce far more of it than a calf needs.
Why not get colostrum straight from a local farmer?
You can, but raw colostrum has to be kept refrigerated and used quickly, it isn't pasteurised, and it comes from a single cow. Commercially produced colostrum is pasteurised and pooled from many cows, so every batch is consistent.
Is it pasteurised?
Yes. New Image™ uses flash pasteurisation, at 72°C for 15 seconds, and processes the colostrum fresh rather than freezing it.
What are immunoglobulins?
Immunoglobulins are proteins found in milk and in body fluids. Five classes are recognised in mammals: IgG, IgA, IgM, IgE and IgD, of which IgG is the most common. A 16g serving of Lifeline™ provides 300mg of immunoglobulins. Immufort™ is made with a more concentrated 40% IgG colostrum, giving 440mg in its two-tablet daily dose.
What are growth factors and immune factors?
They are naturally occurring components of colostrum. New Image™ says it has identified more than 400 immune factors in colostrum to date.
How is colostrum different from ordinary milk?
Compared with milk, colostrum is higher in protein, vitamins and minerals and lower in lactose, and it contains immunoglobulins and growth factors that are present in milk only in very small amounts.
I'm lactose intolerant. How much lactose is there?
Colostrum is naturally low in lactose. New Image™'s figures are roughly 163mg of lactose in two colostrum capsules, compared with about 13,000mg in a 236ml glass of milk. If you have a milk allergy, don't take these products. If you are lactose intolerant, check with your doctor first.
Are the capsules suitable for vegetarians and vegans?
The capsule shells are vegetarian capsules. Colostrum itself is a dairy ingredient, so the products are not suitable for vegans.
Taking Lifeline™
How do I take it?
- Add 1½ scoops (16g) to a shaker.
- Add 150ml of cold water or milk. Don't use hot liquids.
- Shake for about 10 seconds and drink it 30 minutes before your normal breakfast.
How long does one tin last?
A 450g tin lasts one person about four weeks at the recommended 16g a day.
Can I take it every day?
Yes, it's designed as a daily drink. Don't exceed the recommended daily intake shown on the tin.
How much should I take?
Follow the directions on each pack: they differ between the drink, the capsules and the tablets. Don't exceed the stated daily intake.
Can children take these products?
Check each label, as the age limits differ. Lifeline™ and Colostem™ are not recommended for children under 5, and the colostrum capsules and Immufort™ are not recommended under 2, except on the advice of a medical practitioner. Speak to your GP, pharmacist or health visitor if you're unsure.
What if I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?
Speak to your doctor or midwife before taking any food supplement, including these.
Can I take it with other supplements or medication?

Why some Alpha Lipid™ Lifeline™ tins have a sticker label
Some tins with a best-before date of 25 February 2029 show their product information on an applied label instead of printing on the tin itself. New Image™ did this for a short period to use up existing tin stock and cut packaging waste.

Can I return my order?
